As the 2nd Test between England and Sri Lanka at Lords continues to suffer with the inconsistent weather, a group of dancers flown in from Sri Lanka, lit up the spectators lunch break with an action packed dance routine traditional in their homeland.

The dancers have been organised by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board and they will appear again in the final test match at the Rose Bowl, home of Hampshire County Cricket Club.

Blue Ribbon Network were on hand to ensure that the group consisting of 25 were collected on time and they travelled the short distance from their London base to the home of cricket, Lords, by coach.

They will again use our services next week for the coach trip to Southampton.

Blue Ribbon Network, one of the UK’s leading coach hire specialists is delighted to confirm the appointment of a new member of staff. Catherine Collis has joined the team at BRN after recently completing her degree in Sociology at the University of Central Lancashire.

Managing Director, Charlotte Hanson, said “Cath is a welcome addition to the team here at Blue Ribbon and we are thrilled to bring on board such a bright, intelligent and educated young woman. Cath will report directly to me and will slowly be integrated into our management team over the next 18 months. We wish her every success in her new role and look forward to the energy and committment that she will bring Blue Ribbon Network.”

Cath is also looking forward to the challenge, she commented “I was keen to find a challenging position after completing my degree. Blue Ribbon is a business that has made great strides in a relatively short period of time and I look forward to making a contribution. My role is varied which gives me an excellent opportunity to see all aspects of the business at close quarters and it is already proving to be an excellent learning curve.”

Cath will work from the Rossendale head office but will also spend time in Blue Ribbon’s Manchester and London operations.

The ash cloud crisis is back in the UK as volcanic ash continues to head our way from Iceland and coach companies are making the most of the panic setting in amongst airlines and passengers alike.

Blue Ribbon Network has been working closely with a 5 star airline in transporting passengers scheduled to land in Glasgow, who have been diverted to Manchester.

Operations Director, Matt Hanson said “My mobile has not stopped ringing since yesterday afternoon (23rd May), with requests coming in from both the UK and overseas in a bid to find a solution. We have been working with airlines to resolve diversion issues and to date have supplied over 50 coaches in the past 24 hours. One of the most concerned callers was a lady getting married in Lake Como over the weekend and not leaving anything to chance, wanted all of her guests transporting as soon as possible out to the resort so that they didn’t miss her big day!”

Last year, the whole country suffered as a result of the ash cloud but Hanson feels that this time round the impact will not be as severe or as prolonged. He continued “I think lessons were learned from last years fiasco. I am keeping a very close eye on the situation but don’t expect the problems that travellers experienced last time. The financial impact on airlines last year was horrendous and they will be fighting tooth and nail to avoid any major disruption to schedules. Ryan Air already claim to have flown through the thickest part of the ash cloud and found nothing untoward on it’s post flight inspection. It will certainly be an interesting few days with the uncertainty that such a problem brings but coach operators up and down the land will certainly not be complaining if this continues….”

Blue Ribbon Network has this morning announced pricing for Manchester City supporters for the FA Cup Final on Saturday 14th May.

The price of £33 per person will enable supporters to reach Wembley in a fully air conditioned, executive coach with toilet. Blue Ribbon also provide a steward to oversee the journey and offer reserved seating for MCFC fans.

Managing Director, Charlotte Hanson said “We guarantee that our coaches will be less than 5 years old. Having sent a number of coaches to Wembley on Saturday for both Manchester clubs, there was a real mixed bag of coaches on show. We have heard stories of air conditioning systems not working and fans basically frying on board coaches going to the game and we want to ensure that supporters get a quality solution for such a long journey. We charge marginally more than official sources but with all of the coaches we send being less than 5 years old, we know that fans will recieve the right service, especially with the reserved seating plan.”

To book your place for the FA Cup Final, simply call 0845 467 2423 to reserve your space.

BRN to provide free audits as clubs look for best value solutions for team and supporter travel

Blue Ribbon Network has launched a free audit for football clubs throughout the league pyramid, as clubs start to make provisions for the start of the 2011/12 season.

With VIP team coaches throughout the UK, managing director, Charlotte Hanson believes that BRN can provide best value solutions for clubs of all sizes. Hanson said “We have worked with several clubs in the past and have always managed to source a comparable solution to their existing agreement, more often than not at a reduced rate. We are very much interested in working with clubs looking to review their annual spend. In the current climate, football clubs have to be prudent with their travel spend, without compromising on quality. We provide a free, independent review of clubs expenditure in the field of coach hire and offer specialist advice on improvements that can be made, if any. Many clubs will currently be looking at renewing contracts and we feel that it is the ideal time to take advantage of our no obligation offer.”

Blue Ribbon has worked with clubs at all levels, including the Premier League but Charlotte believes that clubs in the Championship and lower will really want to utilise Blue Ribbon’s potential in reducing their annual Team Travel spend. Charlotte continued “Premier League clubs can justify using the ultimate facilities for player and management movements. Decisions at this level ultimately revolve around the solution, rather than the price. However, once you get to the Championship and further into the football league pyramid, many clubs are suffering from dwindling attendances and a significant fall in commercial revenue. If we can help clubs save on their Team Travel, then we would be delighted to be of assistance.”

Charlotte explains how the audit works, “We simply sit down with clubs and review their spend over the course of a season. We analyse the solution that they have in place and look to see if improvements can be made. Our operations team look at the logistics involved and liaise with our VIP travel partners to provide a quality, competitive and comparative quotation for the clubs consideration. We offer 100% discretion and insist on a non disclosure agreement, before we even look at analysing a clubs spend. We understand that the information is sensitive and want both a respectful and rewarding relationship with clubs.”

In addition to team travel , Blue Ribbon Network are also keen to work with clubs for supporters movements.

Call our team today on 0845 467 2423 to discuss your requirements, we will be delighted to provide our free, no obligation audit of your spend.

Blue Ribbon Network’s new, London City Office will officially open on Monday 11th April 2011. The office location is ideal, right in the heart of the city in St John Street, perfectly located next to the London City University and within a few moments walk from a host of tube stations.

Blue Ribbon Network’s Operations Director, Matt Hanson explained the decision of opening a new London facility. He said “Around 75% of our work is now in Central and Greater London, so it was a natural step. Whilst we don’t want to lose our national focus, we acknowledge that a lack of a facility and local contact has been missing. The premises at St John Street will enable us to forge stronger links with local businesses and of course the local community. We already work with a number of schools and groups in the area and we believe that a physical presence will only enhance our business.”

Blue Ribbon now has three offices, London, Manchester and head quarters in Rossendale, Lancashire.

For Coach Hire London, call 0845 467 2423 for an immediate quotation.

Blue Ribbon Network’s, Managing Director, Charlotte Hanson has predicted strong sales for the traditionally busy summer period as the company continue to yield positive results in 2011.

Hanson has cited a review in marketing spend, repeat business and outstanding customer service as the three key areas that has seen Blue Ribbon enjoy an increase in turnover throughout the first quarter.

Charlotte said “Towards the end of 2010, we appraised our situation at Blue Ribbon Network. We identified that we really had to hit the ground running in 2011 and that lead generation needed to be improved significantly in order to have a successful year. With the winter months traditionally being a quieter period, we took the opportunity to look at several options and having channelled our marketing down to two key areas, the enquiries have been flooding in.”

With repeat business being a vital aspect of any company, Charlotte feels that Blue Ribbon have an even tougher role, being a ‘middle man’. She continued “We work so hard to keep our clients, it’s something that we take great pride in. As a facilitator, we are very much in the hands of our coach partners who carry our business forward. This has been a painstaking journey but we genuinely have an outstanding record in this field and this has been down to using the right companies to work with. Our customer satisfaction reviews have proved that we have this aspect of our business in good order. We understand our clients requirements and deliver solutions in keeping with their expectation levels. We listen and learn from our customers and will continue to do so, they are the heartbeat of our business.”

If you have a coach requirement, you can call a member of the Blue Ribbon Network customer service team on 0845 4672423.

Spare a thought for a group of Norwich City supporters, who travelled to Hull City on Saturday 19th March.

After seeing their team take a hard earned point from the game to enhance their promotion charge, the canaries fans headed back to the coach park for the long drive back to East Anglia. As two of the coaches, provided by official supporters club provider Sanders Coaches made for the exit to the car park, the unthinkable happened and they collided.

Thankfully, nobody was injured and after local paramedics gave passengers the once over, the local constabulary conducted a series of safety checks in order for the vehicles to leave the stadium car park.

Supporters eventually left Hull some two hours later than expected, with the most severely affected coach being replaced enroute to Norfolk on the A17.

Blue Ribbon Network can provide coach hire prices for supporters clubs (both official and independent). Call us on 0845 467 2423 and we will be delighted to assist.

Worcester City Supporters’ Club urged fans of the football team to put their money where their mouth is this week after admitting that cash problems are making harder to afford coach travel to away matches.

The club has been in existence for three decades, and in that time one of its most important function has been to organise coach hire for those all-important away fixtures, with fans taking to the coaches on a Saturday to travel all over the country.

Sadly, the numbers of active members have fallen so low this season, that the Supporters’ Club was unable to raise the funds for coach hire to away matches in Corby and Guiseley this month, reported the Worcester News.

Vice-chairman Keith Chambers told the paper: “We have been able to subsidise the service for a while but we are getting to the stage when we can no longer do that.”

“I would like to think we could run the coaches next season but unless we find ways of increasing revenue we will struggle.”

First Class Travel to Royal Ascot from Central London

14th-18th June 2011

Royal Ascot is a national institution and the centrepiece of the British social calendar. Each year, for the third week in June, tradition, pageantry, fashion and style combine at one of the most beautiful settings in the country.

The quality of the racing at Royal Ascot is simply outstanding, with nearly £4 million in prize money on offer and a total of eighteen ‘Group’ races (racing’s term for the most prestigious races) over the five days.
